Quran Learning – Juz ‘Amma Links

To help with Quran understanding, recitation and memorization it is very important to spend some time everyday to read, recite, understand and memorize.

Here are some tools that can be helpful:

  • A parent/teacher to teach, listen and correct recitation and memorization daily/regularly.
  • use a Quran App or CD or online resource to listen-to and repeat the ayaat they have to memorize:
    1. Highly recommended for Levels 1-5: Quran IQ for FREE at https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.app.quraniq&hl=en. This is a really good app to learn and understand the meaning of words and ayaat of surahs that the children are currently learning from Levels 1-5. It comes in the form of short lessons which are marked and can be tracked. For Example:
      • Level 1-3: Lessons 1 to 15
      • Level 4: Lessons 57 to 79
      • Level 5:
        • Suratul A’laa – lessons 148 to 157;
        • al-Ghashiya – lessons 139 to 147
        • al-Fajr – lessons 125 to 138
        • al-Balad – lessons 115 to 124
    2. Highly recommended for all Levels, Parents and Teachers: http://www.myquranstudy.com/Study.aspx – A great motivational tool to understand the Quran! This website helps you learn the meaning of each word in every ayaat. Once you set-up an account, you are able to mark those word you know/have learnt and thus track what percentage of the words in the Quran you have learnt!
    3. http://www.quranful.com/ is good because it has audio English translation as well as recitation. Easy to read.
    4. https://goo.gl/w6rESk: Al Quran (Tafsir & by Word) is a Quran study tool for all. It provides verse by verse audio playback with repeat functions, Tafsir ibn Kathir, Color Coded Tajweed, word by word Analysis and Translations, custom bookmarks, search, several simultaneous translations, multiple themes and fonts and much more.
    5. http://www.quranexplorer.com/quran/ : this has recitation, written translation and tafseer. It is good for memorizing because you can choose how many times you want to repeat the ayaat, choose the Qari (reciter), etc.

There are countless more apps and online resources available – please help your child by making sure he/she has access to someone who will listen and correct their recitation and/or at least one of these resources.
